🔥 rose tyler
she would need to take a Fucking Minute to adjust after journey’s end and it would not be easy for her. not because tentoo isn’t the doctor or anything like that, he is, and rose would see that, but because she never planned to stay in pete’s world. from day one of being stuck there she was working to get back to the prime universe. every hour of every day she was working on getting back. i doubt she had friends other than mickey, and he’s now gone. i doubt she had much of a life there at all. she would take a while to adjust to the idea of being in pete’s world permanently because it is an Entirely Different Universe. also i hate when people act like being in pete’s world with tentoo was the Only Way she would ever have been happy, or that a normal suburbia white picket fence life was what she had secretly wanted all along, because that is just patently untrue

🔥 lgbt infighting discourse
everyone keeps referring to the "lgbt community" as though this is an ontologically, prediscursively extant organ of which we all hold a shared definition (and as though "community" in this context is an a priori useful descriptor) and i think that's the misconception we need to start tackling before we can accomplish anything else

🔥 for Tekken if you got any?
Hmmm... I'm not sure if my opinions can be considered unpopular, but imma share them anyway
No readmore because it's not that long lmao
As for Kazuya and Jun, I don't think there's much hope for them. Too much has happened that cannot be undone over the years that cannot be taken back. It's tragic, and as much as I usually like to cling on to hope for something wholesome, I have my doubts.
Tekken fans be doing too much about the newcomers sometimes. I get that you miss your OGs, but it's not the new ones' fault, I promise.
I know Tekken 4 would leave a lot of unanswered questions, but I personally feel it was its peak lorewise. As much as I enjoyed the individuals' stories in Tekken 5, I don't like how it got at the expense of the original story. Like... Jinpachi got possessed by an evil spirit which wants to destroy the world, what else?

🔥 (letzte generation)
#mailbox#ask game: send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion#pol#letztendlich ist es mir ehrlich gesagt egal was die letzte generation macht finde es gibt sinnvollere fragen mit denen man sich#beschäftigen kann zb wie kann man in gewerkschaften klassenbewusstsein aufbauen#i didn't know if you wanted me to answer this in english or german so if you want an english translation lmk or something

Unpopular opinion(?): Deruth Henituse
Let's all face it: Deuth wasn't a bad father to Og!Cale. He was millions of times better than a lot of fictional fathers and I wholeheartedly agree with that. ദ്ദി(• ˕ •マ.ᐟ
Unpopular opinion: That's doesn't mean I have to like him. (¬⤙¬ )
And I'm all for different opinions. People can view one thing in various different ways, and that's perfectly understandable! I don't like Deruth and that's mine.
Deruth was-no, is a coward. The lovely author of the novel has made it pretty clear. And I don't hate him for it. Being a coward is not a sin, but neglecting your son is.
Like b*tch, most fanfictions make you a better father than you are just because your wife was dead like WTF?!?! Your son's mom was dead too REMEMBER THAT?!?! 눈_눈
And I'm not against Cale and Deruth having a good relationship or those fanfics that basically erase Deruth's wrongdoing because to be honest, I enjoy them too. It's much easier to pretend Deruth was a good father and that our lovely little Og!Cale had a wonderful life than look at canon. o(TヘTo)
Let's recap: Deruth was a decent father until Jour died. Then he went into a deep depression of which Cale tried his bestest to pull his father out of. We know Cale basically ignored his own sorrow just to take care of his father AND the count duties his father was ignoring at the same time. While there is nothing wrong with grieving as losing Jour was very hard for Deruth, couldn't he have at least put SOME effort into assigning someone efficient to handle his duties so 7-year-old Cale didn't have to?
While on the topic of grieving, Deruth not only failed his duties as a count but as a father. I personally have no experience with this, but I had a friend with a dead mother. Even though her father must've been sad too, he put in effort to take care of her and her sister, send them to school, make money, manage the household and everything. Fathers and mothers push aside their sorrow every day to do the bast they can for their children. Deruth, on the other hand, was too much of a fool to do any of that.
Deruth wasn't the only one who lost Jour, after all. Cale lost his mother. The one who gave birth to him, raised him, hugged him, told her all his secrets, whom did the same in return, and was the only other person with the same bright and beautiful hair that he had.
And he could've turned around after a few weeks and fixed everything up and let both him and Cale heal with each other. But NOOOO~ He had to leave his only cute, lovely, wonderful, but most of all GRIEVING son all alone in a cold and lonely mansion for vacation. Like he could've at least taken him along so they could grieve together? But NOOOO~ Cale looks too much like his dead wife and that's so iMpOsSiBle~ ~( TロT)σ
But he fixed that? How? By marrying the woman on the spot! Bringing in a new countess when no one but him got over the old one and turning up all the dark shades of sorrow into wedding curtains before Cale even knew what was happening! (°ロ°)
But I also know he had good intentions. Being the count and all, he probably knew marrying Violan would mean she could help her with the household. Maybe he also thought that Cale would immediately think of her as his mother.
Now, him falling in love wasn't a sin and Violan is an amazing woman😍, but I think he undermined his son's sorrow just because he found a reason to move on from Jour.😔
BTW, Violan, Basen, and Lily are amazing. They're one of my most fave fictional families and no one can tell me otherwise. Go them! q(≧▽≦q)
And as the years go by, our smart Cale realizes that the vassals and the collateral family are coming after Violan and Basen and decided to throw away his life and soul all for his father's picturesque perfect family; just so that coward can be happy.
And then KRS!Cale comes along (also love him, go my baby make fires 🔥 and steal MONAH!!! 🫰💰💵) and suddenly, Deruth thinks Cale is all "fixed" and "not broken" so he can finally reach out to his son, only it's NOT HIS SON ANYMORE!!! Like, he had over 10 years even after marrying Violan to reach out to him but ?????
But since there are no implications of him raising a hand against Cale, I don't hate him and wish for his death like another certain protagonist's father (I'm looking at you, Kim Dokja's 'father'), but that doesn't mean I can just forgive and forget all of this, okay?
Yes, he let Cale waste his life away because he couldn't even protect the new family member that he brought into the family HIMSELF as the count, so Cale had to do it himself. And from what I can infer, when the Choi Han incident happened in TBoaH, he didn't even show up or visit him even though we know Cale would fight the damn gods if it were the other way around. He did provide Cale with the best treatment and kept an eye on him, but couldn't bear to face him.
So in conclusion: I don't really hate Deruth, but please for the love of peace, family, and chaos DON'T convince me to like him one bit.

🔥The ice giants
Oh, this one's tricky. Do people have strong enough feelings about the ice giants for opinions about them to be unpopular? Even NASA doesn't care enough about them to send a spacecraft more than once in a blue moon. I think I'll try to weasel out of this one with the opinion 'all planets are interesting, even Neptune,' on the grounds that uninterestingness is itself the dominant opinion.
The midcentury explorations of the solar system were, in retrospect, kind of crushing for the human imagination. We went from totally unbounded speculations about the diversity of worlds- imagining robust ecosystems on Venus and Mars as late as the 50s and early 60s- to a series of photographs showing cratered, dead, atmosphere-less worlds. And 'realism' became accepting these photographs, building a story of the cosmos that is not just sterile but quite simple, treating the solar system as conforming closely to low-complexity models of planetary formation. Gravity collects micrometeorites and gas particles in planetoids and moons according to the ratios predicted by temperature and distance from the center of the accretion disk; terrestrial worlds close in, gas giants further out, ice giants further still. The planets sort themselves by density, with interior deformation or sortition based on thermal gradients, radioactive decay, magnetic forces; moons find a stable orbit or don't, and that's that.
But the thing is, once you actually get past that superficial Voyager flyby-photograph, these worlds all tend to have dramatic and exciting particularities of their own. Look at Pluto! Look at Titan! Look at Enceladus! Look at Ceres! Probably the most boring and well-studied planet I can think of is Mercury, and even that has cool stuff like solid ice at the surface.
Part of this is just noticing over time that the interface between planets and space (that is, their surface) is not always or even usually the most interesting part of them, and assumptions to the contrary are an understandable but misleading form of Earth-chauvinism.
And a larger share of it, I think, is just that once you get something substantially larger than an asteroid, the combined influence of so much volume, so much mass, and so much time just tends to amplify the variance of your system incredibly far beyond what you'd expect from your 'terrestrial, gas giant, ice giant' template. The model is actionably useful, don't get me wrong, and worlds rarely vary so much that they outright break their category. But nothing the size of a moon or planet is actually simple, and nothing on the scale of four billion years is actually stable. And so each of these things, no matter how straightforward the template, will gradually tilt and totter its way within an unfathomably large space of possibilities to something that is practically speaking unique, and which reveals something new about the cosmos that you can't find anywhere else.
If the ice giants seem simple, it's a reflection of our methods and our technological limits, not the planets themselves. We are, generally speaking, absolutely terrible about investigating gaseous worlds on their own terms- and maybe we simply don't have the right tools or the right questions yet to figure out what makes Neptune and Uranus special. But it's only a matter of time.
#my actual inside-baseball unpopular opinion is that I bet they have complex weather systems at certain characteristic depths#which have the potential to drive complex chemical synthesis#and that a lot of the puzzles with their internal structure and density are resolved through this disequilibrium synthesis#where the slowly changing chemistry alters the characteristic weather depths and vice versa

🔥 the transmasculine community
home to the most annoying archetype of dudes known to man. for example (including but not limited to): the transandrophobia truther, the zionist w a victim complex (these two often come as a pair), the 'will detransition for a straight guy', the "closet case" (live their whole lives as cis women, yet act like the high authority on transness and transphobia, love to speak over out/publicly trans ppl, esp trans women, 99.999% of the time theyre not closeted for safety reasons), the 'kalvin garrah' (or 'the transmasc blair white'), the one way too involved in kindrama, the softboy achillean, the 'calls himself a fag communist yet never had a single critical thought abt anything ever', etc.

“🔥” from one Levi writer to another, are there any popular Levi headcannons by the fandom you disagree with?
Hi thank you for the ask!❤️
That he would be clingy once he gets into a relationship with you, I don't see that for him at all. Also, he probably sucks at being romantic, he just isn't. I think dating him would almost be like not dating him, he would show you his appraction by brining you tea or something subtle but I can't see Levi being clingy or overly romantic at all.

🔥 Homestuck
really REALLY unpopular opinion but with a couple of notable exceptions, i really don’t think it’s that big of a deal that Homestuck has some bigoted & otherwise unsavoury language in it. like, don’t get me wrong, i’m not thrilled about it, but any time i talk about reading Homestuck in 2023 somebody suggests the mod that takes all the slurs out, and whilst i’m glad such a thing exists, personally i think that Homestuck is a more honest & impactful storyline when it is authentically about shitty little teenagers in 2009 who think it’s ok to call each other “gay” or “retarded”. it’s not nice but again to me it’s authentic to the truth of teenagers talking online in chat windows in 2009. again, glad the option exists for people who don’t wanna see that, but i also think it’s important that adults are able to engage with uncensored versions of a text too, especially something like Homestuck

🔥 dr who ships
oh i have many unpopular opinions on these.
if you see nine/rose and ten/rose as two entirely separate and distinct things you have missed the point of at least two episodes
if you get genuinely angry or annoyed at people for shipping rose tyler with post-ten doctors you should go outside perhaps.
actually if you get genuinely angry or annoyed at people for any sort of dr who shipping reason you should throw your computer into the ocean and live in the wild for several months like thoreau. that being said,
twelve/clara is 1000x more interesting when read as toxic platonic codependency than as a romance, and boiling them down to simple romance makes it boring
thasmin COULD have been good but by the time the showrunners started paying attention to it was far too late and they would have been better off not touching it at all. it should have started much earlier, preferably from day one. hell, even if they had started in series 12 it could have been good. but according matt strevens they “forgot”.
rose tyler and river song would get along extremely well. in a gay way

🔥+jealousy bc i need to fuel my anti-jealous eddie tag
godd, i hate fandom's obsession with jealous!eddie. mostly because it's not even true to his character, because 90% of the time, he actually doesn't give a fuck about buck's relationships (beyond being protective when he thinks buck is gonna get hurt). and i've seen people say that him being jealous of buck/tommy is the only narrative device that can be employed to get him to realize his feelings, but i just...don't agree? for one thing, i'm firmly of the opinion that eddie on some level recognizes what he feels for buck, he just genuinely does not believe that he has a chance, regardless of whether buck is straight or not. for another thing, even if eddie weren't aware, i don't think jealousy is the correct device to use here because then the question arises (for me, at least), why wasn't he this threatened by buck's other (more serious) relationships? because we're tipping dangerously close back into the rhetoric that buck's relationship with tommy is So Much More Special and Amazing because tommy is a man, which, i think i've made my feelings very clear on how biphobic and misogynistic i think that sentiment is. and i don't think eddie is gonna automatically start wondering why buck isn't considering him as an option just because he likes men. i think eddie's issues with self-worth run way too deep for him to reach that level of...conceited? i guess is the word. anyway, all this is to say i just don't think it's true to his character lmao.

this many.
Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.
OH MY GOD. OK. Let me see. these will all be on very varying topics
bg3's character customization, as much as i do have lots of fun in it, isn't really worth the praise unless you have modded it to hell and back
schael corwin from siege of dragonspear is actually a very fascinating engaging character!
dao looks better than dai in some places and I'm dead serious about this
i really don't get the hype for the bg3 tiefling npcs. admittedly this may be because ive somehow failed rescuing them one way or another with so many of my saves, and I'm happy for people who enjoy them and all, but I can't find myself getting attached to them in ways I see other people doing
as much as I did actually enjoy SoD (which seems to be an unpopular opinion on its own between bg1/2 fans, lol) irenicus' involvement seemed out of place. there could've been better ways to introduce what he brings to the table within the dlc, especially since his role is left a complete mystery the whole time (the only reason we Know it's him is because of his VA)
milk is actually fine to drink with dinner ☝️
modern jason todd as a character feels unsalvagable as more and more writers try to make him likeable. the jason todd most of his fans "like" is a culmination of building off fanon
making durgetash canon/canon-adjacent ruins the appeal
baeloth should've been romanceable
I don't care about the actual lore reason bane being the god of tyranny and being in the *dead* three makes no sense. What!!!!

🔥 for whatever you want to talk about
You already know about this unpopular opinion, but that post I made about Maddie scolding Eddie every time they've interacted on screen is currently going around, and everyone's like "we need Maddie Eddie bestie-ism" in the tags, and I am still SO against that. I find it so much funnier that they barely interact and Maddie treats him like just her little brother's annoying best friend, and I love the idea that they butt heads regularly when they're in the same space. Like, Maddie just wants that man to stay OUT of her house. She knows how much he loves Buck, and she absolutely trusts him with Buck 100% (and she'd even trust him with Jee, no question), but when they're in the same room together (especially when Buck is present because Buck and Eddie together are just SO stupid), he annoys the absolute hell out of her, and she mostly just wants to throttle him.
So I am very against Maddie and Eddie interacting more. They would NOT be having wine nights together or hanging out on the regular. Though if they ever somehow ended up, like, full on drunk and in the same space, all bets are off, they'd have a ball, but ONLY in that specific circumstance, and then they would never speak of it again.
Send me a "🔥" for an unpopular opinion.
